About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for the position of Instructor I in the Department of Mechanical Engineering under the School of Engineering. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging practical and theoretical instruction in Mechanical Engineering courses across National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels.
- Supervise student workshop practices, laboratory sessions, and final-year graduation projects.
- Lead or participate in the design, fabrication, and production of functional engineering projects aligned with institutional and industrial standards.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, and practical tests.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Maintain workshop safety standards and ensure proper handling of specialized laboratory equipment.
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification cognate teaching or industrial experience.
- Compulsory evidence of the production or fabrication of at least one (1) functional project in the relevant discipline.
- Alternatively, serving Instructor II personnel with at least three (3) years of satisfactory cognate experience on that cadre and required project fabrication evidence.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical workshop management skills.
