About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our academic community as an Instructor I in the Department of Food Science Technology within the School of Technology. In this hands-on role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of technologists by imparting practical knowledge, supervising laboratory sessions, and fostering innovation in food processing and production.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging practical instructions and laboratory sessions for students across National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
- Design, develop, and supervise the fabrication of functional projects in Food Science and Technology.
- Assess and evaluate student practical work, examinations, and project reports accurately.
- Collaborate with faculty members to update curriculum content in line with current industry standards and technological advancements.
- Maintain and manage laboratory equipment to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and community service initiatives as required by the institution.
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science Technology or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification cognate teaching or industrial experience.
- Compulsory evidence of the production or fabrication of at least one (1) functional project in the relevant discipline.
- Alternatively, a serving Instructor II with at least three (3) years of satisfactory cognate experience on that cadre, alongside the required project fabrication evidence.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical skills suited for academic mentorship.
