About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution and a leading center for technological and vocational education, is seeking a qualified and dynamic professional to join our academic community as an Instructor I in Fashion Design & Clothing Technology within the School of Arts, Design and Printing. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of creative professionals by delivering high-quality practical instruction, fostering innovation, and guiding students through hands-on technical training.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging practical and theoretical lectures in Fashion Design and Clothing Technology to National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
- Supervise student workshop activities, studio sessions, and the production of functional fashion and apparel projects.
- Design, develop, and update curriculum materials and instructional aids in alignment with industry standards.
- Assess and evaluate student coursework, practical examinations, and project outputs.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic advising, and institutional accreditation processes.
- Contribute to research, development, and community service initiatives within the college.
- Possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Fashion Design, Clothing Technology, or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- Bring at least three (3) years of post-qualification cognate teaching or industry experience.
- Provide verifiable evidence of the production or fabrication of at least one (1) functional project in the relevant discipline.
- Alternatively, be a serving Instructor II with at least three (3) years of satisfactory cognate experience on that cadre and evidence of a functional project fabrication.
