About the Role
Wentworth Schools, a reputable private educational institution located in Ikotun, Lagos State, is seeking a talented and passionate Fashion Design & Garment Making Instructor to join our vocational and academic training team. In this role, you will play a vital part in equipping students with essential creative and technical skills in garment construction, pattern drafting, and textile science, fostering both artistic expression and practical entrepreneurship.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and practical lessons in fashion design, garment making, pattern drafting, and sewing techniques to students.
- Develop a comprehensive and structured curriculum that blends creative design theory with hands-on workshop practice.
- Guide students through the entire garment production process, from initial sketching and fabric selection to cutting, stitching, and finishing.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and creative learning environment in the school's fashion studio and practical workshop.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and organizing exhibitions to showcase student portfolios.
- Possess relevant academic qualifications in Fashion Design, Tailoring, Home Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated practical experience in professional garment making, sewing machine operation, and pattern cutting.
- Strong passion for teaching young learners and adolescents with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must reside within or around Ijegun, Ikotun, Isheri, and immediate environs in Lagos State for ease of commute.
