We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Independent Power Plant (IPP) Operator to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our power generation facility, ensuring all activities strictly adhere to approved operational, safety, and maintenance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and operate power generation equipment and auxiliary plant systems efficiently.
- Observe critical plant parameters and operating conditions to guarantee stable energy output.
- Conduct thorough routine inspections to promptly identify abnormal operating conditions or potential faults.
- Accurately record operating data, equipment readings, fuel consumption, and relevant plant metrics.
- Execute proper start-up, shutdown, and routine operational procedures according to instructions.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to equipment alarms, system faults, and operational abnormalities.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance team during scheduled equipment servicing and troubleshooting.
- Maintain comprehensive shift logs and detailed operational records for accountability.
- Ensure strict compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies.
- Report equipment malfunctions, operational issues, and safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall plant reliability and availability.
- Possession of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Power, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Previous hands-on experience in power generation, IPP environments, gas or diesel plants, or industrial operations is an advantage.
- Foundational understanding of power generation systems, generators, and electrical infrastructure.
- Proven ability to interpret technical operating parameters and spot equipment anomalies.
