About the Role

Prime Montessori Nursery and Primary School (PMS) is committed to providing qualitative and balanced education to Nigerian children and the broader ECOWAS sub-region, arresting the falling standard in the educational sector. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Igbo Language Teacher to inspire our pupils and foster a deep appreciation for the Igbo language and cultural heritage within our vibrant academic community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging daily lesson plans focused on Igbo language proficiency, reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Integrate rich Igbo cultural heritage, traditions, and moral values into the standard curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and individualized support to ensure academic growth.
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and culturally enriching classroom environment that encourages active student participation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to organize cultural events, debates, and extracurricular activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance, behavioral development, and milestone achievements.

Qualifications
  • Possession of an NCE, B.A., or B.Ed. in Igbo Language or Linguistics from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of two years of proven teaching experience in Igbo Language within a structured educational setting.
  • Native fluency in the Igbo language, including accurate pronunciation, grammar, and tonal understanding.
  • Strong passion for child development, modern pedagogical approaches, and cultural education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
