About the Role
Dr. Peter Odili Cancer & Cardiovascular Hospital (POCCH) is a leading tertiary healthcare institution located in Port Harcourt, dedicated to delivering advanced and compassionate medical care at international standards. We specialize in oncology, cardiovascular medicine, renal care, advanced surgery, and precision diagnostics. We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled ICU Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, continuous nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Monitor patient vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters closely, reporting any significant changes immediately.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced life-support equipment, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
- Administer medications, blood products, and intravenous therapies safely and in strict accordance with clinical protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and execute comprehensive patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic medical records and documentation for all assigned patients.
- Provide compassionate emotional support, education, and reassurance to patients and their families during critical situations.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Post-basic certification in Critical Care Nursing or Intensive Care Nursing is strictly required.
- Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience within an ICU or critical care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional emotional resilience, and excellent communication skills.
