About the Role
iRecruiters Africa Limited is seeking an experienced and dynamic HVAC Mechanical Lead to join our expanding engineering operations in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will spearhead the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. We are looking for a technical expert who can drive engineering excellence, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to international and local safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and size comprehensive HVAC systems including VRF, chilled water, DX, and specialized ventilation networks.
- Perform accurate cooling and heat load calculations to determine optimal system capacities and equipment selection.
- Supervise HVAC and mechanical installation works on project sites, ensuring full compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to drive quality and timely project delivery.
- Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), method statements, and technical documentation.
- Supervise testing, commissioning, air balancing, and chilled-water balancing procedures.
- Conduct site surveys, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide expert guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8 to 12 years of proven experience in mechanical and HVAC engineering on large-scale building or industrial projects.
- COREN registration is highly preferred, with active membership in the NSE or NIMechE as an added advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in VRF, chilled water, and ventilation system design and installation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant HVAC design software such as Carrier HAP or Revit MEP.
