About the Role
IOTA Group is a trusted global HR and technical assistance partner, providing expert workforce solutions to the energy and infrastructure sectors worldwide. We are currently hiring an expert HV Circuit Breaker Specialist to support a major turnkey project involving the extension and upgrade of five high-voltage electrical substations across Nigeria. This is a vital technical role offering international exposure, working on critical power infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable energy delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning of 132 kV and 330 kV AIS and GIS circuit breakers in compliance with OEM instructions and approved drawings.
- Perform advanced electrical testing utilizing OMICRON CIBANO 500, CMC 356, and CMC 256 plus test sets, including circuit breaker timing, contact resistance, and operating mechanism verifications.
- Coordinate installation interfaces with HV, Protection & Control (P&C), and customer engineering teams to support Ready for Commissioning (RFC) and energization milestones.
- Validate protection interfaces, SCADA signals, control system integration, interlocks, alarms, and trip/close sequences.
- Manage punch lists, identify defects, oversee corrective actions, and prepare comprehensive commissioning reports and final handover documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) as well as Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on professional experience in HV circuit breaker installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Proven technical expertise working with 132 kV and 330 kV AIS/GIS circuit breakers and associated mechanism testing methods.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating OMICRON CIBANO 500, CMC 356, and CMC 256 plus testing equipment, supported by relevant training certificates.
- Thorough knowledge of IEC standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
- Fluent in English with strong communication and coordination skills.
