About the Role

Action Against Hunger | ACF Nigeria LTD/GTE is a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger, saving the lives of malnourished children, and providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Officer to be based in our Nguru office, Yobe State. In this role, you will support the full employee lifecycle, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate contract preparation, processing, communication, and filing in compliance with HR policies.
  • Manage employee separation processes, conduct exit interviews, and maintain accurate end-of-contract records.
  • Monitor probationary evaluations and ensure timely submissions to HR Abuja.
  • Maintain and update the payroll database, process monthly payroll, and ensure all timesheets and payslips are systematically filed.
  • Support standardized staff onboarding, induction, and facilitation of HR policy training sessions.
  • Act as a point of contact for HR guidance at the base, fostering positive employee relations.
  • Manage base communication boards, staff accommodation logistics, and administrative procurement requests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Administration, Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience, with at least 1 year in an HR or administrative role.
  • Basic knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with payroll software such as Homere.
  • Previous experience working with an international NGO (INGO) in the humanitarian sector is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English and relevant local languages.
