About the Role
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is looking for a dedicated Human Resources Officer to join our Internal Services division. In this role, you will ensure the efficient functioning of general human resource operations within the Office of the Auditor General, aligning with established regional best practices and ECOWAS regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to HR strategy development and advise management on workforce planning and policies.
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including vacancy announcements, screening, interviews, and onboarding.
- Administer staff compensation, allowances, benefits, and entitlements such as education grants and travel logistics.
- Manage performance management systems, monitor appraisal timelines, and support staff development programs.
- Facilitate workplace harmony, resolve conflicts, and drive employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintain secure personnel records and handle contract administration, promotions, and separations.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, facilitate HR audits, and implement recommended risk mitigations.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related social science field.
- A Master's degree in HR management or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible generalist human resources experience in an international or structured organization.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and database management.
- Fluency in oral and written expression in one of the official ECOWAS languages (English, French, or Portuguese).
- Must be below 45 years of age (does not apply to internal candidates).
- Competitive annual salary package of Ua40,696.78 (approximately USD 52,648.78) for Grade P3/1.
