About the Role
Chabash Development and Health Initiative (CDHI) is a dynamic non-governmental organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria. Working closely with SEMA, NEMA, and the Borno State humanitarian response committee, we are committed to impactful community development and health interventions. We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Human Resources Officer to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno State, and contribute to our mission by fostering a productive, compliant, and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes including job postings, shortlisting, interviewing, onboarding, and preparing employment contracts.
- Maintain accurate, confidential staff records and support payroll processing by providing precise HR data to the finance unit.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, staff welfare, grievances, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Oversee performance management systems, support appraisal processes, and identify training needs for staff capacity-building.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian labor laws, donor regulations, and organizational policies during internal and external audits.
- Enforce strict adherence to CDHI’s Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, Child Protection, and PSEA standards across all operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field; CIPM certification is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within an NGO or donor-funded humanitarian organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, recruitment best practices, and performance management frameworks.
- Exceptional interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills, maintaining absolute confidentiality and integrity.
- Fluency in English with proficiency in local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, Fulfulde) considered an asset.
