About the Role

Hampton Preparatory School is a premier independent day school located in the vibrant heart of Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. Established in September 2017, we provide an exceptional British-curriculum education for children from three months up to Year 8, distinguished by small class sizes and a nurturing community atmosphere. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Manager to join our dedicated team and champion our most valuable asset: our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and implement comprehensive human resources policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in alignment with Nigerian labour laws.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including talent sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and retention strategies for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Oversee performance management systems, professional development initiatives, and staff appraisal processes.
  • Handle employee relations, grievance procedures, and disciplinary matters with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Administer payroll inputs, staff benefits, leave management, and maintain accurate personnel records using modern HR tools.
  • Advise school leadership on HR best practices, labor regulations, and organizational development strategies.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certification in HR such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or other recognized bodies is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in human resources management, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, employment regulations, and contemporary HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
