About the Role
Scruples Resources, a premier consultancy and human resource provider for the Nigerian economy, is seeking a qualified and proactive HSE Specialist - Wells Support. In this critical role, you will champion safety leadership across drilling, completion, workover, and well intervention activities, ensuring all operations adhere strictly to company policies, industry best practices, and Nigerian regulatory requirements to achieve goal zero in incidents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated HSE support for drilling, completion, workover, and well intervention activities across various wellsite environments.
- Review HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and bridging documents while identifying operational hazards and recommending effective control measures.
- Monitor critical well operations including pressure testing, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), lifting, confined-space entries, and hot work.
- Ensure full compliance with Control of Work requirements such as Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Conduct regular field inspections, safety audits, pre-job meetings, and toolbox talks to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Participate actively in incident, near-miss, and high-potential event investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are tracked to closure.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, spill prevention, and environmental protection measures.
- Generate comprehensive HSE performance reports and recommendations for Wells and HSE management.
- Bachelor degree or HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Recognized professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent industry standards.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in oil and gas drilling, completion, workover, well intervention, or well services.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE management systems, control-of-work processes, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
