About the Role
Dexterous Applied Training Institute (DATI) is an industry-certified training and consultancy institute dedicated to closing the skills gap across Nigeria's oil and gas, manufacturing, energy, and educational sectors. We are currently seeking a proactive and highly disciplined HSE Officer, Facilitator & Facility Officer to join our team on a full-time basis in Grade 6 (GOII). In this dual-impact role, you will manage facility operations, lead health and safety compliance, and facilitate comprehensive safety training programs for our learners.
Key Responsibilities- Implement DATI corporate and technical safety frameworks, conduct daily workplace inspections, execute Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA), and lead daily toolbox briefings.
- Deliver technical safety training curricula to learners, maintaining a target of over 80% student pass rate on HSE assessments.
- Investigate near-misses and accidents using root-cause analysis, enforce regulatory compliance, maintain MSDS records, and close out identified hazards within 48 hours.
- Manage corporate utilities including power, water, and HVAC, alongside waste disposal, routine maintenance, and contract support staff to ensure continuous facility readiness.
- Conduct weekly safety audits and execute quarterly emergency response drills covering fire, evacuation, and spill response.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Environmental Sciences, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline, with mandatory NEBOSH or OSHA certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience implementing safety management systems, leading HIRA, executing facility management, and delivering safety training.
- Strong core competencies in root-cause analysis methodologies, adult learning and instructional delivery, facility maintenance oversight, and emergency response planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for audit reporting and documentation.
