We are currently looking for a proactive and experienced HSE Officer to join our dynamic team and ensure the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance at our plant.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety rules across operations.
- Conduct routine inspections, hazard identification, and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Ensure strict compliance with Permit to Work systems, safe work procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Lead engaging toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Investigate incidents and near misses thoroughly, preparing detailed reports and corrective recommendations.
- Monitor third-party contractors to guarantee adherence to company HSE standards.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives, fire safety, and regular evacuation drills.
- Manage environmental practices, housekeeping standards, and proper waste management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to promote safe operational workflows and drive continuous improvement.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant HSE experience within mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, or heavy industrial settings.
- A recognized professional HSE qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA.
- Strong knowledge of hazard identification, incident investigation, and emergency response protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and comprehensive HSE documentation.
- Residency in Ode Remo or surrounding communities with the ability to reliably commute to the site.
