About the Role
Nigerian NewsDirect, a leading national newspaper and a trusted source for business, economic, and political intelligence in Nigeria, is looking for a dedicated and resourceful HR Generalist. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping our workplace culture, managing employee lifecycles, and ensuring smooth human resources operations across our offices. You will partner closely with management to implement strategic HR policies that champion employee engagement, professional development, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end recruitment, talent acquisition, selection, and comprehensive onboarding processes for new hires.
- Coordinate performance management systems, staff training initiatives, and ongoing professional development programs.
- Oversee daily HR operations including attendance tracking, leave management, staff welfare, and payroll-related administrative processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure seamless implementation of company policies and Nigerian labor regulations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations, resolving workplace queries and advising management on strategic personnel matters.
- Prepare regular HR metrics, analytical reports, and documentation to support data-driven decision making.
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of progressive generalist human resources experience in a structured corporate environment.
- Professional HR certifications such as CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD will be a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, HR best practices, and contemporary personnel management systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with proven problem-solving abilities.
