About the Role
Ibadan Business School, a premier business education institution licensed by the Nigerian Council for Management Development, is seeking a hardworking, organised, and detail-oriented Hotel Laundry Officer to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guests' clothing are impeccably cleaned, properly handled, and delivered promptly to maintain our high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Sort, wash, dry, iron, fold, and arrange hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms efficiently.
- Process guests’ personal laundry carefully, adhering to strict turnaround times and special instructions.
- Identify stubborn stains and apply appropriate pre-treatment and cleaning methods without damaging fabrics.
- Operate and monitor commercial washing machines, tumble dryers, industrial irons, and other laundry equipment safely.
- Maintain absolute cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness within the laundry workstation and storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of detergents, softeners, and other supplies, reporting low stock promptly.
- Inspect all items thoroughly for damage, stains, or missing buttons before and after the washing cycle.
- Report any faulty equipment or maintenance concerns immediately to prevent operational downtime.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health, safety, and chemical-handling protocols at all times.
- Previous professional experience working in a hotel laundry or commercial laundry environment is a strong advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern washing, pressing, and fabric-care procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrated personal hygiene, absolute honesty, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong physical fitness and the stamina required to perform demanding physical laundry duties.
