About the Role
Blooms Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hostel Parent to join our vibrant residential community in Nigeria. Located in a serene, beautiful environment designed for holistic student development, we offer a blended curriculum fusing American National Standards and the Nigerian Universal Basic Education. As a Hostel Parent, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our boarding students experience a safe, nurturing, and disciplined home away from home, fostering moral uprightness, teamwork, and personal growth in alignment with our mission to raise future global leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide round-the-clock pastoral care, supervision, and guidance to boarding students within the school hostel.
- Maintain a safe, clean, supportive, and structured environment conducive to study, relaxation, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor students' daily routines, including wake-up calls, prep hours, meal times, and lights-out schedules.
- Act as a trusted confidant and mentor, addressing behavioral, emotional, or social concerns promptly and professionally.
- Liaise closely with the school administration, academic staff, and parents regarding student welfare and progress.
- Enforce hostel rules and regulations fairly while promoting a culture of mutual respect and spiritual grounding.
- Relevant educational qualification or proven experience in student hostel management, youth work, or pastoral care.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a school or residential setting is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and professional school environment.
- Strong IT and digital skills, including proficiency with computers and relevant productivity software.
- Preferred Gender: Male.
