About the Role

Arrupe Jesuit College (AJC), a prestigious institution belonging to the Society of Jesus, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Male Hostel Parent to join our vibrant school community. In this vital pastoral and administrative role, you will oversee the welfare, discipline, and daily routines of our students outside of regular classroom hours, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured boarding environment that aligns with Jesuit educational values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise male students and manage all hostel activities before and after school hours to ensure a secure and orderly living environment.
  • Monitor and supervise study hall sessions, including those during school hours, to foster effective and efficient academic habits.
  • Act as a primary mentor and positive role model, guiding students in character development, personal hygiene, and social responsibility.
  • Collaborate closely with school administration, teachers, and parents to address behavioral, emotional, or academic concerns of the students.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding student attendance, discipline, and facility maintenance within the hostel premises.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor Degree in any discipline, with a degree or certification in Education being a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar hostel, boarding school, or youth mentorship role.
  • Strong command of the English language and exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of adolescent psychology and the ability to manage teenagers effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites, particularly Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player with minimal supervision.
