About the Role
Ferscoat International Academy is seeking a compassionate and organized Hostel Mistress to join our vibrant boarding community. In this role, you will be responsible for the welfare, safety, and general well-being of our students aged 10 to 16, ensuring a homely and disciplined environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily boarding routines, including wake-up calls, meal times, prep hours, and lights-out.
- Monitor the health, hygiene, and general well-being of students, liaising with the school clinic when necessary.
- Provide pastoral care, guidance, and emotional support to students navigating their teenage years.
- Maintain discipline and enforce school boarding rules consistently and fairly.
- Coordinate weekend activities, exeat sign-outs, and general hostel administration.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and welfare in the hostel.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field.
- 2 to 9 years of relevant experience in pastoral care, teaching, or hostel management within a reputable school.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in using digital tools for reporting and communication.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- High level of patience, empathy, and integrity.
