About the Role
Ferscoat International Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hostel Master to join our esteemed educational community in Nigeria. In this vital pastoral and academic role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and disciplined residential environment for students aged 10 to 16. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership abilities with a genuine passion for youth development, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our boarding students.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and monitor residential students to ensure adherence to school rules, routines, and codes of conduct.
- Provide comprehensive pastoral care, supporting the personal and social development of learners aged 10 to 16.
- Coordinate daily hostel activities, including prep times, recreational programs, dining schedules, and weekend outings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly living environment by liaising regularly with maintenance and housekeeping staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and general well-being.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage student health records in coordination with the school clinic.
- Teach assigned subjects or support academic initiatives when required, leveraging professional teaching experience.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a relevant Master's Degree.
- Minimum of 2 to 9 years of proven teaching and boarding house management experience.
- Must be fully computer literate with proficiency in basic administrative software.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse groups of adolescents with patience and firmness.
