St. Mary the Virgin Convent, Ufuma is a prestigious Anglican secondary boarding school for girls located in Orumba North LGA, Anambra State. We are dedicated to providing standard education combined with strong moral discipline, serving as a premier center for character building and academic excellence. We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Home Economics/Home Management Teacher to join our esteemed academic community and shape the future of our young female students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Home Economics and Home Management lessons in accordance with the Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
- Instruct students in practical aspects of home management, nutrition, food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, and home economics crafts.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate academic records.
- Create a safe, supportive, and interactive learning environment that encourages both theoretical understanding and practical skill acquisition.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and boarding house supervision duties to mentor students holistically.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to uphold the moral and academic standards of the institution.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), or Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Home Economics, Home Management, or a related field.
- Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with relevant specialization will also be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a recognized secondary school environment, preferably within a boarding school setting.
- Strong passion for teaching and mentoring young girls with a commitment to moral values and discipline.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in integrating practical demonstrations and modern teaching aids into lessons.
