About the Role
A reputable and fast-growing healthcare facility located in Igando, Alimosho LGA, Lagos State, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented HMO / Billing Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between patient care and financial operations by ensuring seamless Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) coordination, accurate billing, and efficient claims processing. Key Responsibilities- Manage HMO patient verification, approvals, and authorization processes promptly and accurately.
- Prepare, process, and submit comprehensive HMO bills and claims to various health insurance providers.
- Conduct payment reconciliations and actively follow up on outstanding claims to ensure steady cash flow.
- Maintain precise digital and physical records of all billing transactions and patient encounters.
- Collaborate with the medical and administrative teams to resolve billing discrepancies and authorization issues.
- Navigate various billing and HMO portals efficiently to fast-track service delivery.
- Minimum of an SSCE qualification.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in HMO operations, hospital billing, or a similar healthcare role.
- Strong practical knowledge of HMO verification, approvals, and claims management procedures.
- Proficiency in computer operations, including the use of billing software and HMO portals.
- Exceptional numerical, record-keeping, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for managing patient and partner relations.
- Proximity to Igando, Ikotun, Egbeda, Isheri-Olofin, Iyana-Ipaja, and surrounding areas in Lagos is a distinct advantage.
