About the Role
The Diocese of Evo Education Board, the principal administrative organ of the Diocese of Evo, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), is seeking a dedicated and passionate History Teacher to join our esteemed faculty in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State. Formally established to govern, standardize, and advance our educational apostolate, the Board provides comprehensive administrative and academic oversight across all missionary institutions under diocesan ownership. In this role, you will inspire students by bringing historical narratives to life while fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and strong moral character in a supportive faith-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and comprehensive history lessons aligned with the approved Nigerian and international curricula.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations including WAEC and NECO.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
- Create a dynamic, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages curiosity and debate.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and school-wide extracurricular activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral development.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) with a specialization in History or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of verified professional teaching experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience successfully preparing students for WAEC and NECO examinations will be a distinct advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern, interactive pedagogical methods and classroom management techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.
