About the Role
Arrupe Jesuit College (AJC), a respected co-educational institution belonging to the Society of Jesus, is seeking a passionate and qualified History Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. In this role, you will help students understand the past while developing critical thinking skills applicable to everyday life. Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging History lessons in accordance with the Nigerian National Policy on Education and AJC standards.
- Cover all items effectively and efficiently within the school's approved scheme of work.
- Connect historical concepts to everyday life to enhance student comprehension and interest.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to students, promoting the core values of the institution.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in History or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a higher degree or professional teaching qualification (such as PGDE) will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven teaching experience in a similar role within a reputable secondary school.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, for instructional delivery.
- Strong understanding of adolescent psychology and effective classroom management techniques.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong command of the English language.
