About the Role
Scruples Resources is a leading consultancy and human resource development firm dedicated to supporting all sectors of the Nigerian economy. We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional specializing in Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will champion safety standards, minimize environmental impact, and ensure regulatory compliance across our operational sites.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct rigorous field inspections, safety observations, audits, and compliance checks to maintain optimal workplace safety.
- Review risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and control measures for all active work operations.
- Coach personnel on safe work practices, actively intervening when critical safety controls prove ineffective or compromised.
- Track workplace incidents, near misses, corrective actions, and key HSE performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive HSE reports and provide vital support for incident investigations, emergency response exercises, and quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate seamlessly with operations teams, contractors, and management to close identified safety gaps and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Possess a relevant Bachelor's degree, HND, OND, trade qualification, or recognized professional certification appropriate to the discipline.
- Demonstrated industrial, construction, oil and gas, marine, or project experience, particularly in HSE and LDAR functions.
- Hold relevant HSE qualifications and certifications, with oil and gas or construction sector experience being a distinct advantage.
- Possess strong risk assessment, incident reporting, and audit execution skills combined with exceptional communication and coaching capabilities.
- Willingness to obtain role-specific statutory, technical, offshore, or safety certifications as required by clients or site standards.
