About the Role
Fadac Resources is seeking a dynamic and results-driven R&D Lead to spearhead our Home Care and Personal Care product development initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will lead the end-to-end research, formulation, testing, and commercial scale-up of high-quality consumer products tailored to the Nigerian market. You will play a crucial part in driving innovation, optimizing existing formulations, and ensuring full regulatory compliance while mentoring a talented team of junior researchers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the research, formulation, development, testing, and launch of innovative home care and personal care products.
- Formulate and optimise existing products to improve quality, performance, cost-effectiveness, and product stability.
- Identify and evaluate suitable raw materials, including locally sourced alternatives, to support product quality and cost efficiency.
- Ensure product formulations, testing, documentation, and registration processes comply with applicable NAFDAC and SON standards.
- Coordinate product scale-up from laboratory formulation to commercial production, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Conduct rigorous product performance, stability, compatibility, and quality tests.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Quality Assurance, Production, and Supply Chain teams to align product development with business objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging raw materials to identify new development opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and support junior R&D team members to ensure effective execution of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of formulations, test results, product specifications, and development processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in R&D, formulation, and product development within the home care or personal care industry.
- Demonstrated success in developing and launching products from concept to commercial production.
- Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, surfactants, emulsions, preservatives, and relevant raw materials.
- Practical expertise in product testing, stability assessment, quality optimisation, and production scale-up.
- Thorough familiarity with NAFDAC and SON regulatory requirements and registration processes.
