About the Role
Tincan Island Container Terminal (TICT) is redefining port and terminal operations in Nigeria through operational excellence, unrivaled efficiency, and strict safety standards. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Control Room Superintendent to join our vibrant team at our Apapa, Lagos facility. In this critical role, you will supervise and coordinate real-time terminal activities from our Operations Control Room, ensuring seamless vessel and yard operations.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor live vessel and yard operations continuously using the Terminal Operating System (TOS) and CCTV systems.
- Disseminate accurate operational data in real time to Yard and Shipside teams to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
- Communicate effectively with shipping agents, vessel planners, and internal stakeholders regarding berthing, sailing, and departure reports.
- Analyze operational delays, report disruptions promptly, and propose actionable corrective solutions to enhance productivity and vessel turnaround time.
- Collaborate closely with the Equipment Control and Technical departments to ensure optimal Cargo Handling Equipment (CHE) distribution and fault resolution.
- Prepare comprehensive shift reports summarizing yard performance, equipment allocation, and key operational metrics.
- Possession of a Bachelor degree or HND in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Transport Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of cognate experience in port or terminal operations, with at least 3 years served in a supervisory or control room capacity.
- Proven proficiency in using Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and interpreting operational dashboards.
- Strong situational awareness, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure in a 24/7 shift environment.
- Relevant port or shipping operations training and background in vessel planning will be considered strong advantages.
