About the Role
Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a market leader in the day-old chicks and poultry industry, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer. In this vital role, you will champion workplace safety, drive environmental compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture across our farm operations to protect our workforce and support sustainable agricultural growth in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and monitor comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures across all operational units.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, rigorous risk assessments, and thorough safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed root-cause reports and corrective action plans.
- Facilitate engaging HSE inductions, daily toolbox talks, and specialized safety training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Ensure strict regulatory compliance with statutory HSE legislation and maintain functional emergency response equipment.
- Manage environmental practices including waste management, chemical handling, and pollution prevention standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of hands-on HSE experience within agriculture, manufacturing, food production, or industrial environments.
- Recognized professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent local safety credentials will be a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors on-site.
