About the Role
Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to healthcare information and services across Africa. Since 2017, we have leveraged advocacy, research, and technology to transform healthcare delivery in vulnerable communities within Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Health Policy Expert to join our multidisciplinary team and help shape impactful healthcare policies that drive sustainable change across underserved regions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive health policy analysis and research to identify gaps in vulnerable and underserved communities.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and key stakeholders to advocate for equitable healthcare policies.
- Design, implement, and evaluate health advocacy campaigns aligned with organizational goals.
- Translate complex health data and research findings into actionable policy briefs for decision-makers.
- Contribute to grant proposals, reports, and strategic publications focusing on public health and policy reform.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field; a Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- Proven professional experience in health policy formulation, advocacy, or public health research.
- Deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria and broader Africa.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
