About the Role

Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN) is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare access and information in vulnerable and underserved communities across Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia. Utilizing advocacy, research, and technology, our multidisciplinary team is passionate about transforming healthcare delivery in Africa. We are currently seeking a dedicated Health Economist to provide vital economic analysis and evidence to optimize our health programming, resource allocation, and policy recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct rigorous cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses of SRHIN health programmes to maximize resource efficiency.
  • Analyse diverse health financing mechanisms and evaluate their implications for long-term programme sustainability.
  • Develop robust economic models and budgeting frameworks to support competitive grant proposals and donor reporting.
  • Provide expert technical input on resource allocation for ongoing and upcoming health interventions in slum and rural areas.
  • Collaborate closely with policy and research teams to translate complex economic findings into actionable, high-impact recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, policy briefs, and engaging presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in health economics, health financing, or quantitative economic analysis.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proven proficiency in relevant statistical and economic modeling software.
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian healthcare system and donor-funded public health programmes is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
