About the Role

Michael Stevens Consulting, a leading international management and human resource development firm, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head, Power Training & Consulting to drive the growth and strategic direction of our power sector practice in Nigeria. In this executive leadership role, you will spearhead our specialized technical training programmes and engineering consulting engagements, catering to key industry stakeholders across generation, transmission, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and business leadership for the firm's power sector practice, spanning training programmes and engineering consulting engagements.
  • Own full P&L responsibility for the power practice, including budgeting, cost control, and profit management.
  • Lead business development from the front by personally driving new client acquisition, key account relationships, and strategic partnerships.
  • Set strategic direction and quality standards for technical training curricula and courses covering generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Manage high-level executive relationships with DISCOs, GENCOs, TCN, IPPs, and regulatory bodies such as NERC.
  • Drive performance management across the power practice by setting KPIs, monitoring delivery, and building team capability.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing power engineering and training leadership team.
Qualifications
  • B.Eng or B.Sc in Electrical or Power Engineering; an MBA or M.Sc is strongly preferred.
  • Mandatory COREN registration and deep working knowledge of NERC regulations and grid codes.
  • Minimum of 15 years of cognate experience spanning the Nigerian power sector across generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Proven track record in strategic and business management, including comprehensive P&L, budget, and profit oversight.
  • Demonstrated success in leading business development and securing high-value contracts at the executive level.
