About the Role
Our client, a prominent Nigerian conglomerate, is seeking a strategic and execution-driven Head of Portfolio Value Creation to lead business transformation and growth initiatives. In this pivotal role reporting directly to the CIO, you will serve as the primary engagement lead, partnering with portfolio company leadership to optimize operational performance, strengthen accountability, and maximize long-term shareholder value across diverse business platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Drive comprehensive value creation initiatives and strategic execution across assigned portfolio companies with measurable performance outcomes.
- Build trusted, strategic partnerships with portfolio company executives and managing directors to ensure alignment with group objectives.
- Lead strategic planning, annual business reviews, and rigorous performance monitoring against financial and operational targets.
- Design and direct business transformation programmes to enhance commercial effectiveness, operational efficiency, and organizational capability.
- Support new investment evaluations, operational due diligence, transaction execution, and post-investment integration.
- Prepare high-quality governance reports, strategic reviews, and materials for investment committees and portfolio boards.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Strategy, or a related discipline; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 12-15 years of relevant experience in private equity portfolio operations, top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, or transformation leadership.
- Demonstrated success in driving measurable value creation, performance improvement, and strategic execution within complex, multi-business environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence senior executives, boards, and shareholders.
