About the Role
The British Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of UK-NG Season of Culture to lead the implementation of the UK/Nigeria Season to the highest standards of compliance and excellence. Operating on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2029, this pivotal role will drive cultural relations, foster people-to-people links, and build lasting trust between the UK and Nigeria through Arts and Higher Education initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic delivery of the UK/Nigeria Season across Nigeria and the UK, aligning all activities with core outcomes and priorities.
- Champion Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) across all programme tiers and foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, funders, and clients.
- Manage end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring strict adherence to corporate compliance, safeguarding, and financial management standards.
- Oversee business development initiatives, coordinate in-country research, and drive high-quality proposal and bid development.
- Monitor budgets, develop robust Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks, and manage risk registers effectively.
- A degree and/or equivalent relevant professional experience with strong project management capabilities.
- Extensive experience in leading large, multi-country, or complex programmes that have successfully passed audits.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, risk management, and consortium relationship management.
- Proven track record of engaging with senior stakeholders and managing diverse, dispersed project teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal English proficiency to CEF Level C1.
