About the Role
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organisation helping people forced to flee. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Programme to join our Nigeria Country Office, providing strategic leadership and oversight for our comprehensive humanitarian portfolio to ensure maximum impact for displaced populations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of holistic, high-quality programmes aligned with NRC strategy, humanitarian principles, and donor requirements.
- Collaborate with the Programme Unit to drive the country fundraising strategy and map donor priorities.
- Lead the partnership strategy in Nigeria, fostering principled and equitable collaborations with national and international partners.
- Ensure sound and timely grants management through the Project Cycle Management framework.
- Promote strong synergy between programme and support units while ensuring robust MEAL systems and accountability mechanisms.
- Act as Country Director when delegated, representing NRC in relevant coordination forums and networks.
- Bachelor degree in programme management, business administration, social sciences, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a humanitarian or recovery context.
- Demonstrated expertise in grants management, donor relations, and consortium coordination within complex and volatile environments.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering integrated programming across core sectors such as Shelter, WASH, Food Security, Education, and ICLA.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, cross-cultural communication, and team-building skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English with outstanding drafting capabilities.
