About the Role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as the Head of Programme Coordination and Innovation Unit (PCIU) in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will manage and coordinate unit activities, drive programme and project conceptualization, enhance monitoring and evaluation, and strengthen strategic relationships with the UN, donors, and the Government of Nigeria to advance humane and orderly migration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise PCIU staff to ensure effective implementation, development, and reporting of IOM Nigeria programmes in line with institutional standards.
  • Assess potential funding opportunities, draft comprehensive project proposals, and review reports in collaboration with project managers.
  • Coordinate project activities, evaluate implementation quality, and advise the Deputy Chief of Mission on necessary corrective measures.
  • Liaise with donors, regional offices, and international partners to foster resource mobilization, synergies, and strategic engagement.
  • Mainstream regional frameworks (ECOWAS, African Union) into national-level programming and policy design.
  • Represent IOM in UN inter-agency meetings, ensuring migration issues are integrated into broader cooperation frameworks.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Law, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in international migration management, project development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Proven track record of successful donor relations, resource mobilization, and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of migration dynamics and regional issues in West Africa.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs.
