About the Role
Dangote Cement Transport Obajana is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Pre-Trip Inspection to oversee our large-scale transport operations. In this pivotal leadership role, you will ensure that all trucks and heavy-duty equipment meet rigorous safety and compliance standards before deployment, driving operational excellence across our pan-African logistics network.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive pre-trip inspection protocols and operating procedures for the entire fleet.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a dedicated team of inspectors to guarantee thorough checks of all trucks and equipment.
- Analyze daily inspection reports, proactively identifying mechanical concerns and coordinating swift repairs with the maintenance department.
- Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian transport regulations, company policies, and HSE standards.
- Maintain accurate logs and inspection data for advanced reporting, KPI tracking, and operational analysis.
- Design and deliver continuous training programs to upskill inspection personnel and enhance team performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of cognate experience in transport operations or logistics, with substantial leadership tenure (prior experience with the FRSC is highly desirable).
- Expert knowledge of trucking safety standards, distribution networks, and Nigerian transport regulations.
- Mandatory active membership in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) or an equivalent professional body.
