About the Role
Aldelia Limited is currently recruiting a dynamic and experienced Head of Laboratory to manage our medical laboratory services across clinic locations in Port Harcourt and Lagos. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring strict adherence to HSE policies, and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies such as NAFDAC and the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria. You will coordinate activities across laboratories, manage procurement and budgeting, and provide technical guidance to a team of skilled lab scientists and technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the provision of cost-effective, high-quality medical laboratory services across PHC and Lagos clinics.
- Supervise daily laboratory activities with a special focus on microbiology, ensuring accurate result validation and prompt dispatch.
- Manage quality control, equipment calibration, and maintenance in partnership with bio-medical technicians.
- Handle the end-to-end procurement process, managing supply orders from international and local vendors while preventing wastage.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with NAFDAC, WHO safety standards, and the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
- Generate comprehensive monthly activity reports for the Medical Officer and Senior Medical Officer.
- Provide technical and administrative guidance, training, and mentorship to all lab scientists and technicians.
- Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or Biology.
- Minimum of 15 years of related professional experience, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in laboratory management, budgeting, and procurement.
- Proficiency in laboratory software such as Biowin and Prolablis, alongside working knowledge of SAP.
- Strong interpersonal, administrative, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
