About the Role
Beacongate Limited is seeking a visionary Head of IT Engineering to lead our software engineering function and drive digital transformation across our financial services and insurance businesses. You will spearhead our technology strategy, architect scalable platforms, and build a world-class engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the Group’s engineering strategy in alignment with business objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile, and quality assurance.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications, digital platforms, and strategic products.
- Establish rigorous engineering standards, coding practices, Agile delivery frameworks, and technical governance.
- Design and oversee scalable microservices, API-first architectures, and secure software development lifecycles.
- Partner with business leaders to translate strategic goals into actionable, future-proof technology roadmaps.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- 8 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a senior engineering leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise platforms within the Nigerian financial services or insurance sector.
- Strong technical expertise in Java/Spring Boot, microservices, API architecture, DevSecOps, and Agile delivery.
- Demonstrated experience with AI solution integration and enterprise architecture transformation.
