About the Role
Egbin Power Plc, located in Lagos, Nigeria, is the largest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated to meeting the rising electricity demands of Nigeria. We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Head of Internal Audit to lead our internal audit function, providing independent assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive risk-based annual internal audit plan and establish the internal audit charter.
- Evaluate risk exposures relating to the organization's governance, operations, and information systems, including fraud risk.
- Communicate audit results, strategic implications, and control improvement recommendations to the Audit Committee, Board, and senior management.
- Ensure adherence to the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), ethical codes, and regulatory frameworks including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
- Monitor and support the implementation of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
- Develop safeguards to maintain auditor independence and promote an ethical culture throughout the organization.
- Establish key performance indicators to measure internal audit progress and service delivery effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications are required.
- Mandatory relevant professional certification such as CIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience in internal audit, risk management, or financial control, preferably within a heavy industry or large-scale operational environment.
