About the Role
Petty Systems is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of FMCG Procurement & Strategic Sourcing to drive our commercial purchasing strategy for Confidence Tradefair. You will spearhead direct manufacturer relationships, optimize category development, and secure competitive pricing advantages to deliver high-volume fast-moving consumer goods below prevailing retail prices across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with major FMCG manufacturers and brand owners in Nigeria, including Nestlé, Unilever, Nigerian Breweries, and Dangote.
- Develop a comprehensive sourcing strategy to purchase products at the lowest commercially viable cost and improve gross margins.
- Identify fastest-moving FMCG products, evaluate sales potential, and build profitable category assortments for local and imported goods.
- Calculate total landed costs for international sourcing from markets like China, India, and South Africa to ensure competitive advantage.
- Manage procurement planning, supplier performance, and inventory replenishment in collaboration with finance and warehouse teams.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in FMCG procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial buying, or wholesale distribution.
- Proven track record of negotiating direct supply arrangements and volume rebates with major brand owners and authorized distributors.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian FMCG distribution networks, wholesale pricing structures, and import regulations.
- Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills with high proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems.
- Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline with relevant certifications.
