About the Role

Plumptre Advisory is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Finance to join our dynamic educational team in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will work closely with executive management to provide sound financial guidance, oversee comprehensive budgeting processes, manage investments, and direct daily financial transactions to drive operational excellence across our school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the school's comprehensive annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Oversee all financial matters including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, loans, and investments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant Nigerian financial regulations.
  • Perform asset management, asset tagging, accounts reconciliation, and inventory management for school consumables.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders and school leadership.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the finance team to foster high performance and professional growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Must possess a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role within the education or non-profit sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial compliance, asset management, and internal controls.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
