About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa’s real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses and consumers. We are looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to lead our Rewards platform, sitting at the centre of our retention strategy across approximately 23 million users. In this executive-level domain CTO role, you will evolve our cashback product into a full-scale rewards, engagement, and personalisation network serving businesses, consumers, and sales agents.
Key Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Rewards Platform.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and depth of our existing cashback product.
- Evolve the platform into a comprehensive rewards, retention, and personalisation system across web and mobile.
- Build and scale the engineering organization from nine to 25+ engineers, hiring and leading through Engineering Managers.
- Establish a robust experimentation culture utilizing A/B testing, cohort analysis, and rapid feedback loops.
- Partner closely with Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams to translate business objectives into impactful product initiatives.
- Define architecture standards, ensure engineering health, and maintain high deployment frequency and quality metrics.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases and managing managers.
- Proven track record building and shipping direct-to-consumer products at scale that drive engagement and retention.
- Genuine front-end and mobile engineering depth, combined with credibility in backend technologies like Java and Spring Boot.
- Extensive hands-on experience with experimentation, growth engineering, feature flagging, and A/B testing frameworks.
- Strong background in scaling engineering organizations, defining technical roadmaps, and collaborating with commercial stakeholders.
- Lead a high-impact domain with full architectural autonomy as a Domain CTO.
- Directly influence retention and engagement across a massive user base of 23 million people.
