About the Role
Maybrands Limited, Nigeria's premier store for luxury fashion accessories and the exclusive licensed retailer for global brands such as Fossil, Emporio Armani, Diesel, and Michael Kors, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Accounts. In this pivotal leadership role, you will direct our comprehensive finance and accounting operations, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and strategic fiscal management to support our continued expansion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the company's accounting, financial reporting, and payroll functions across all retail and operational locations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Management Accounts.
- Oversee tax planning and statutory compliance with Federal, State, and Local Government regulatory authorities in Nigeria.
- Manage budgeting, financial forecasting, expenditure control, and variance analysis to drive profitability.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring seamless documentation and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the finance and accounting team to foster operational excellence.
- Implement continuous improvements in financial systems, QuickBooks, databases, and internal control frameworks.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial control, accounting, and audit within a structured corporate environment.
- Mandatory active professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or CFA.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel for complex financial modeling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
