About the Role
Unified Payment Services Limited (UP), Nigeria's premier Payments & Financial Technology company founded in 1997, is seeking a strategic and visionary Head Middleware Officer to lead our integration infrastructure. In this vital role, you will champion the design, governance, and continuous optimization of enterprise middleware platforms, ensuring seamless, high-availability communication across core banking, digital channels, and third-party systems.
Key Responsibilities- Define and drive the enterprise middleware and integration strategy aligned with business and IT objectives.
- Design and implement scalable, secure integration architectures including API-led, microservices, ESB, and event-driven solutions.
- Oversee daily platform operations, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and effective lifecycle management.
- Establish and enforce rigorous API management and governance frameworks covering security, versioning, and documentation.
- Ensure stringent regulatory compliance, data protection, and risk management across all integration platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Middleware and Integration team to foster continuous technical innovation.
- First Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a middleware or integration leadership role.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with middleware technologies, ESB, API Gateways, Microservices, and message queues like Kafka and MQ.
