About the Role
Nairapoint Finance Limited is a licensed digital financial technology platform in Nigeria focused on ethical lending, investment products, and retail wealth management. We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head, Merchant POS & Agency Banking to lead the growth, management, and optimization of our merchant acquiring and agent banking channels. In this pivotal leadership role, you will champion our mission to deepen financial inclusion for individuals and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive merchant POS and agency banking strategies to achieve ambitious onboarding, transaction volume, and revenue targets.
- Oversee the recruitment, due diligence, training, and performance management of merchants, super-agents, and banking agents across target locations.
- Manage vendor relationships with POS manufacturers, payment processors, and switching networks to guarantee optimal uptime and service delivery.
- Collaborate with risk, compliance, and fraud management teams to ensure strict adherence to CBN guidelines, NIBSS requirements, PCI-DSS, and AML/CFT standards.
- Lead, mentor, and coach the agency banking and POS support teams, establishing KPIs and tracking portfolio health and channel profitability.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, IT, or a related discipline; an MBA is an added advantage.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in merchant acquiring, POS, agency banking, or digital payments within a commercial bank, microfinance bank, or fintech.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership or management role overseeing payment operations and network scaling.
- In-depth technical knowledge of payment switching, settlement flows, commission structures, and regulatory frameworks governing Nigerian fintech.
