About the Role

Since 2007, we have pioneered objective recruitment and application management processes to meet international standards. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head, Medical Records to join our team in Port Harcourt (PH). In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the complete medical and health records function, ensuring that all patient health information is accurate, highly secure, and easily accessible to support clinical care, governance, and managed-care processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain highly accurate, complete, and strictly confidential patient health records in accordance with industry standards.
  • Manage end-to-end records workflows, including patient registration, prompt retrieval, secure filing, clinical coding, and systematic retention.
  • Ensure absolute confidentiality and data protection compliance in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and internal company policies.
  • Support clinical care, billing operations, managed-care processes, and statutory reporting through the timely provision of health records.
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and appraise the performance of records staff while establishing rigorous departmental standards.
  • Contribute actively to data quality assurance, internal audits, and continuous healthcare service improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-registration experience in health information or records management, including proven supervisory or senior-level experience.
  • A recognised qualification in Health Information Management or Health Records (e.g., BSc in Health Information Management, HND, or Diploma in Health Records).
  • Successful completion of required internship, professional registration training, and NYSC, or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
  • Advanced knowledge of health information management practices, clinical coding systems (such as ICD), and data-protection obligations.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in coordinating a health records team along with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
