About the Role
Dragnet Solutions, a leading innovative people screening and recruitment technology company in Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head, Medical Records to join our healthcare operations. In this pivotal role, you will lead the medical and health records function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, confidential, and easily accessible health information that seamlessly supports clinical care, governance, and managed-care processes.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate, complete, and highly confidential patient health records across all operational touchpoints.
- Manage comprehensive records workflows, including patient registration, prompt retrieval, secure filing, clinical coding, and compliant retention.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and data protection in full compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and internal governance policies.
- Support clinical care, billing, managed-care schemes, and statutory reporting through the timely provision of health data.
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and appraise records staff while establishing and enforcing high departmental standards.
- Contribute significantly to data quality assurance, clinical audits, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Participate actively as part of a multidisciplinary hospital team and prepare the unit for regulatory and accreditation reviews.
- A recognized qualification in health information management or health records, such as a BSc in Health Information Management, HND, or Diploma in Health Records.
- Successful completion of required internship, registration training, and NYSC, or a valid exemption certificate.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-registration experience in health information and records management, including substantial experience at a senior or supervisory level.
- Demonstrable expertise in leading a health records team, organizing services, and conducting staff appraisals.
- Thorough knowledge of health information management practices, clinical coding systems like ICD, and healthcare data privacy regulations.
