About the Role

Verdant Acres Limited is an emerging agribusiness enterprise established to lead the development, management, and operation of fully integrated agricultural value chains in Nigeria. We are strategically positioned as a leader in the nation's coconut oil sector, operating a state-of-the-art 22-ton-per-day coconut processing facility. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Human Resources to spearhead our human capital initiatives and drive organizational success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy of our expanding agribusiness operations.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by proactively addressing demands, resolving grievances, and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top agricultural and industrial talent in Nigeria.
  • Support current and future business needs through the continuous development, engagement, motivation, and retention of human capital.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
  • Nurture a positive, inclusive, and high-performance working environment.
  • Oversee and manage a robust performance appraisal system that drives accountability and excellence.
  • Maintain competitive pay plans and comprehensive employee benefits programs.
  • Assess organizational training needs to design, implement, and monitor impactful professional development programs.
  • Report to executive management and provide strategic decision support through accurate HR metrics and analytics.
  • Ensure strict legal compliance throughout all human resource management practices and Nigerian labor laws.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven working experience as an HR Manager, HR Executive, or Head of HR, preferably within the manufacturing, agriculture, or industrial sector.
  • People-oriented, empathetic, yet firmly results-driven leadership style.
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing Human Resources metrics to drive business decisions.
  • Proficiency in modern HR systems, software, and databases.
  • Exceptional strategic planning capabilities paired with strong operational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • High competence in building and effectively managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor law and global HR best practices.
